Additional Information

The Schlenkerla brewery is a historic smoked beer brewery in the middle of the old part of Bamberg, directly beneath the cathedral. It was first mentioned in 1405 and now run by the 6th generation of the Trum family. It is known for its "Original Schlenkerla Smokebeer" or in German "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier". The smoked beer is served in the brewery tavern tapped directly from the wooden barrel according to old tradition.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.

Below are some notes to help identify some of these changes and an aid to reference the year of the glass.
