The Meteor Brewery is located in Hochfelden, a small town in the Ackerland, a hilly agricultural area stretching between Strasbourg and Saverne.
Jean Klein installed the brewery at its current location in 1640. The Metzger family, (brewers from Strasbourg) bought thie brewery in 1898, this family then married in to the Haag family (brewers from Ingwiller) and the brewery is renamed "Metzger Haag". The brewery is still run today by this same family. Then in 1925 the brewery was renamed "Meteor" a more promising name on the French market

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.
