Additional Information

Brasserie Mutzig was founded in 1810 by Antoine Wagner in Alsace (North-East France).
In 1969 the brewery merged into Alsacienne de Breasserie (Albra) along with Alsatian breweries de l'Espérance, de la Perle, de Colmar, and Haag à Ingwiller.
In 1972 Albra was acquired by Heineken and the Mutzig brewery was closed in 1989. In 1987 Mützig was launched in Africa as a premium heavy hop lager and is now the flagship brand of the Sierra Leone Brewery (SLBL)

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
Sometimes this brand update is done by the new owners after a brewery has been sold, other times just to give the brand a fresh new look on the ever growing market.

Below are some notes to help identify some of these changes and an aid to reference the year of the glass.
