Brewery De Halve Maan, also known as Henri Maes brewery is a family brewery located in the Belgian city of Bruges. The building in which the brewery is house dates back to the mid 1500s and fell into the hands of the Maes family in 1856. The brand Straffe Hendrik and brewery were taken over by Brewery Riva in 1988. Who in turn were taken over by Liefmans Brewery in 2002. After being declared bankrupt in 2007 the brand came into the hands of Duvel-Moortgat before returning to Brewery De Halve Maan in 2008.

Over the years the brand identity is updated and re-launched with subtle changes, a change of Logo or a new font.
